Five Asian-fronted artists join forces to present Asian American Pie on Saturday, May 11th.
This evening of Indie Rock and Pop falls right in the heart of AAPI Heritage Month. From the acoustic soulful harmonies of Beau Frères, the singer-songwriter piano stylings of Alyssa Garcia, the energetic modern pop of Moonroof, the Beatles-meets-Radiohead rock of Judah Kim, and the unabashed power pop of John Faye, each artist will add their own flavor to the mix, showing audiences what it can look like and what it can mean to be an AAPI artist in 2024.
Each artist will choose an Asian-based charity or organization to donate a percentage of their profits, one such organization being Flash Drives For Freedom, which collects USB drives and SD cards to smuggle outside information into North Korea. The collective also plans to partner with area Asian-owned businesses and organizations in the hopes of deepening the connection between different parts of the AAPI community.
